Delaware man critical after head-on crash shuts down Route 322

A 26-year-old man visiting family in the State College area was critically injured in a crash Friday night on state Route 322 in Boalsburg.

State College police say Ramanathan Annamalai, of Delaware, was taken to the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center with critical injuries after his Honda Civic crashed head-on with a Chevrolet pick-up truck.

The driver of the truck, 61-year-old Frank Galbraith II, and 65-year-old John Geibel, were injured as well, police said.

Galbraith, of Lewistown and Geibel, of Burnham, were taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center with mild to moderate injuries, police said.

Everyone involved was wearing seat belts and no one was ejected.

The cause of the crash, which shut down Route 322 near the Tait Tree Farm in Harris Township for two and a half hours, is still under investigation, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call State College police at 234-7150.
