Work to replace a structurally deficient bridge on Route 1002 over Marsh Creek will end this afternoon, and the bridge will reopen.
The bridge spans Marsh Creek in Liberty Township, about two miles northwest of the village of Blanchard.
The old, open grate bridge has been replaced with a new, wider box beam structure, according to a PennDOT news release. Replacing the bridge removes it from Centre County’s list of structurally deficient bridges, according to the release.
Lock Haven-based Nestlerode Contracting Co. was the contractor on the $1 million project that begain in May.
