State police seized more than 500 grams of cocaine during a traffic stop Thursday on Interstate 80.
A 2003 Chrysler minivan was stopped by state police on Thursday morning along the interstate near milepost 165 in Marion Township. A trooper noted signs of criminal activity during the stop. The driver of the minivan, Jason Randolph, 29, of Newark, N.J., consented to a search of the vehicle. During the search, an aftermarket modification of a hidden compartment was found on the undercarriage of the minivan. A search warrant was then applied for and granted to the state police.
After the warrant was obtained, it was determined that a trap door was located underneath the passenger seat, where approximately 550 grams, about 1.2 lbs., of cocaine was discovered.
Randolph and a passenger, James Martin, 39, of Bronx, N.Y., were taken into custody and transported to the Centre County Correctional Facility on charges of possession with intent to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia, conspiracy, drug possession and possessing instruments of a crime.
