Unionville man faces child sex abuse charges

A 31-year-old Centre County man has been charged with multiple felony counts stemming from the alleged sexual abuse of two minors.

State police at Rockview have filed three separate cases against Joseph E. Bailey Jr., of Unionville, with charges ranging from rape of a child to supplying minors with alcohol.

In the first case, police alleged Bailey had sexual intercourse with a minor between May and June 2008. While they did not disclose the minor’s age, they said the youth was between 13 and 18 and that Bailey was more than four years older.

Bailey was charged in a separate case with forcing a child younger than 13 to have intercourse and perform sex acts. In that case, he is charged with felony counts of rape of a child, aggravated indecent assault of a child, statutory sexual assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, sexual assault, and indecent assault of a person younger than 13.

In the third case, police allege that Bailey gave alcoholic beverages to three minors. He was charged with corruption of minors and selling or furnishing alcohol to minors, both misdemeanors, in that case.

Bailey was placed in the Centre County Correctional Facility after failing to post $100,000 bail, according to court documents. The documents do not list an attorney for Bailey.
