A hearing scheduled this week for oral arguments over the NCAA’s request to dismiss Gov. Tom Corbett’s lawsuit against the organization over its sanctions on Penn State has been postponed.
Federal Judge Yvette Kane delayed the hearing, set for Wednesday morning in the federal courthouse in Harrisburg, because of plans to attend a funeral for the late Chief U.S. District Judge Gary Lancaster.
The hearing has been rescheduled for 2 p.m. May 20 in courtroom No. 1 of the federal courthouse in Harrisburg.
Corbett sued the NCAA in January, arguing that the sanctions violated federal antitrust laws. The NCAA fought back, and among its lawyers’ arguments was that the judge should throw out the lawsuit because the governor does not have standing to bring the lawsuit.
