A Muncy man was taken to the hospital Tuesday after his van crashed into a truck in a line-painting convoy on Interstate 99 in Benner Township.
Police said Robert Teisher, 29, ran into a state Department of Transportation truck driven by Frederick Antes, 55, of Grampian, near mile marker 76 in the southbound lanes, rolled and landed on the passenger side. Teisher was reading an email on his cellphone when he hit Antes, police said.
The crash occurred at 2 p.m. State police detoured traffic off the highway at the Shiloh Road exit.
Police said Teisher was the only person in the crash to be taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center but suffered only minor injuries. Antes also suffered minor injuries, police said.
Antes was part of a line-painting crew that was working in the right lane at the time of the crash, police said. His Ford F-350 had its lights on and was driving slowly, according to police.
Teisher will be cited, police said.
Along with state police, Alpha Fire Department, Centre LifeLink EMS, PennDOT and Catherman’s Towing responded to the scene.
