After a significant technical glitch, Centre Gives is giving donors a little more time to reach for their check books.
The Centre Foundation charitable challenge extended the time on its annual event until 10 p.m. Wednesday. The original deadline was four hours earlier.
Irene Miller, the foundation’s director of development, made the announcement Wednesday afternoon. On Tuesday, just hours into the 36-hour-long challenge, the company that processes the payments experienced technical problems that halted efforts from Sacramento to Pittsburgh to Centre County.
The site is functioning again, but the foundation said Tuesday it wanted to find a way to work with the 124 participating groups to maximize the benefits of the event.
