O. Richard Bundy III has been named vice president for development and alumni relations at Penn State.

Bundy, president and CEO of the University of Vermont Foundation, will take over on Jan. 1, pending approval by the board of trustees at its Nov. 4 meeting, according to a press release from Penn State.

Bundy succeeds Rodney Kirsch, who announced his retirement in March, according to the release.

Bundy, son of former Blue Band director O. Richard Bundy Jr., is a Penn State alumnus.

“Rich’s energy and fresh perspective are exactly what Penn State needs as we prepare to launch our upcoming capital campaign,” Penn State President Eric Barron said in the release.

According to the release, David Lieb, senior associate vice president for development, will serve in the role through the end of the year.
