A boil water advisory issued after a water main break in the Bellefonte area has been lifted
1 p.m. June 26 update: Residents were notified Monday that it is no longer necessary to boil water. Anyone with questions should contact the Bellefonte Borough office at 814-355-1501.
Several Bellefonte areas are under a boil water advisory as of Wednesday afternoon.
Corning System water customers from the Bel Aire Hills and Amberleigh area up to Benner Pike and the Rockview State Correctional Facility are affected by the boil water advisory. Julie Brooks, assistant superintendent for the Bellefonte Borough, said the advisory would not affect residents of the borough itself.
Brooks said the advisory was a precautionary measure but could last one to two days due to the emergency water line repairs on the Corning System. The Bellefonte Borough’s Facebook page first reported the water line break Tuesday morning on Willowbank Street in front on Pizza Hut.
Water should be boiled for at least one minute before drinking, food preparation, washing dishes or brushing teeth. For further information and updates, visit the Bellefonte Borough’s website or Facebook page.
