Are Centre County post offices, government buildings, libraries open Presidents Day?
Post offices, government offices and banks will be closed in Centre County on Presidents Day, which this year falls Monday, Feb. 16. Many other services will be available as usual.
In addition to U.S. Postal Service office closures, mail delivery will cease for the holiday. Some services will remain available at the USPS self-service kiosk in State College, which is available 24/7.
Delivery will resume and post offices will reopen Tuesday, Feb. 17.
Kiosks like the one in State College will allow postage printing for Priority Mail, Priority Mail Express and international shipping. Stamps can also be purchased there, packages can be weighed and tracking information can be obtained, the USPS said in a news release.
Also closed on Presidents Day are county government offices and banks.
Tyrone Area School District will be off for the holiday, as well. Centre County’s other school districts, as well as Penn State, will remain open.
Libraries will be open for Presidents Day, and Centre Region trash collection will operate as usual.
