Saturday’s Punkin Chunkin festival at Bald Eagle State Park has been canceled due to the major flooding the area, according to the state park’s Facebook page.

The annual event benefits the Howard Fire Company and draws hundreds of people and “chunkin” competitors from Pennsylvania and other states.

Bald Eagle State Park will be closed Saturday, and the Punkin Chunkin festival has not been rescheduled.

Milesburg resident Sheila Stever describes the flooding she discovered in her daughter's house Friday morning.
