In a unanimous vote, the Bald Eagle Area school board passed the 2015-16 preliminary budget of $29,984,911, at a meeting Thursday night.
The current budget is about $29.1 million.
District Business Manager John Gribble said the preliminary budget proposes a 1.9 percent tax increase.
The annual change in real estate taxes for the average homeowner is $60.11, he said.
As of Feb. 5, the average assessed value of a home in the district was $30,055.75.
But the preliminary budget is not concrete.
“We expect it to change,” Gribble said. “We still haven’t heard what the state will do as far as funding.”
Although Gov. Tom Wolf ran part of his campaign on education funding, Gribble said he expects state funding to remain level.
“This is just a best estimate for now,” Gribble said.
