The Bellefonte Area High School 2015-16 course catalog was unveiled at a board meeting earlier this week that includes 22 new courses.
Assistant Superintendent Michelle Saylor said the extra classes will cost the school district about $28,000 for new books, online software, training and other resources.
The classes include accelerated and honors language courses, chemistry, engineering, college writing, international business, sports marketing and management and more.
“What’s being offered is marvelous,” board member Hope Boylston said.
Her only concern was that money has not been set aside for teacher training.
Saylor said teachers who plan to teach the courses already have the proper background, but that there would be room for professional development in the future.
