A Bellefonte woman is dead after a one-vehicle accident in Spring Township Wednesday morning, according to police.
Tiffany Blair, 33, of Bellefonte, died after her vehicle hit a stone wall at the intersection of Willowbank and Walnut streets, right outside Bellefonte. Witnesses reported that Blair’s vehicle slowly went across the yellow lines into the oncoming lane of travel before hitting the wall, Spring Township Detective Dale Moore said. Witnesses said she was not driving fast, did not attempt evasive action or apply brakes, Moore said.
Police do not suspect that Blair fell asleep at the wheel, but possibly a medical issue occurred, Moore said.
Centre County Coroner Scott Sayers issued a release Thursday night saying that the cause of death was ‘abdominal trauma’ and the manner of death was accidental. The investigation will continue.
