The Bellefonte senior center will soon find itself in a new home after county commissioners approved a new lease Tuesday.
The center will relocate just down the road to 110 N. Spring St., Office of Aging Director J.R. Reed said. With 1,600 square feet of space, increased from 900 square feet at its current location, the new center will allow for expanded programming for its senior visitors.
“The church space has been great,” Reed said speaking of the current location at 203 N. Spring St., “But the time has come. We’ve outgrown it.”
The new location will require some work, he said, primarily concrete work to upgrade nearby curbs and provide ADA accessibility.
Rental of the new space will run $58,680 with a $60,000 prepaid rent from September to September 2020, he said.
