Tuesday was opening day at Bellefonte Area School District.
It was the start of a three-day professional learning event that helped get the entire district staff ready for the school year.
Interim Superintendent Michelle Saylor said at Tuesday night’s board meeting the event kicked off with a celebration of the new year that included a motivational speaker, followed by team-building meetings.
Wednesday, she said, will be a day of professional learning.
And Thursday wraps up the week with a clerical day.
“It’s really just getting everyone adjusted,” Saylor said. “I think we started our school year off on a really good note.”
The first day of school is Aug. 29.
New teacher induction also took place last week and included 21 new teachers who attended a three-day orientation.
