Documents regarding an audit of Penns Valley Area School District released Thursday showed the district complied with state laws.
The state auditor general’s office audited public schools in Berks, Centre, Lackawanna and Venango counties; and one charter school in Erie County, one Career and Technology Center in Franklin County; and one vocational-technical school in Fulton County.
The Department of the Auditor General examined the records of Penns Valley Area from Jan. 30, 2012, to May 18.
According to the auditor general’s office, auditors assess whether or not school entities received the state subsidies and reimbursements to which they were entitled, accurately managed taxpayer funds and complied with ethics codes. The audits also determine whether or not teachers and administrators were properly certified for the positions they held during the audit period.
