State police at Philipsburg are investigating a bomb threat at Philipsburg-Osceola High School.

Police were called Friday morning after school officials reported they found a handwritten bomb threat in a restroom, police said.

The suspect, a 14-year-old student, was quickly identified using surveillance equipment, the threat was deemed not to be credible and the school was not evacuated, Superintendent Gregg Paladina said.

Juvenile charges are pending against the boy, police said. School officials are also investigating the incident, and the boy could face suspension or expulsion, Paladina said.

Philipsburg-Osceola schools experienced a rash of threats last spring.
