American Legion Post 245 donated eight medical backpacks to the Ferguson Township Police Department, the department announced Tuesday.
The packs will be distributed to each of the department’s eight patrol vehicles, police said in news release, noting that over the past five years, officers have responded to more than 3,100 EMS assist calls.
“We use our medical bags practically every day, often more than once,” Ferguson Township police Sgt. Devon Moran said. “These new backpacks will be far more efficient and practical.”
Legion Commander Richard Seifert said Post 245 wanted to make a donation to the police, the release said, and asked Chief Diane Conrad what the department could use the most. Medical bags were listed as the most helpful gift.
