Primanti Bros. to take over G-Man in downtown State College

Primanti Bros. is moving to downtown State College.

The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board posted a notice on the door of the Gingerbread Man, 130 Hiester St., of the transfer of the liquor license from Hat Trick Group Inc. to Primanti Corp.

Borough officials said the property is owned by Sidney Friedman — who died in 2009 — and operated by Friedman Real Estate Group.

Amy Smith, a spokeswoman for Primanti Bros. in Pittsburgh, said Wednesday in an emailed statement that the “first deal went dead — we’re on to deal #2.” She did not elaborate what that meant.

The CDT has been in touch with Smith since June 11 in an effort to get more information regarding the restaurant’s move to State College.

Smith said she could not release any information but would have more details when a property deal was made.

Charlene Friedman, of Friedman Real Estate Group, and the owners of the G-Man did not return phone calls seeking comment on the future of G-Man.

Primanti Bros. is a Pittsburgh-based casual dining restaurant and bar with locations in Florida, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
