A man was injured Friday afternoon when he drove his ATV through the window of a unit at Briarwood Apartments on Waupelani Drive.

Alpha Fire Chief Jeff Martin said the driver of the four-wheeler “lost control of the ATV” and crashed into the building.

Martin said the man was plowing snow or salting the area before the crash.

“When he hit the building, he must have ducked at the right time as he went through the window,” Martin said.

The driver’s right foot got caught between the window and the ATV. Officials had to stabilize the vehicle to keep it from falling on the driver.

“It took a while to get the rig off,” Martin said.

One person was sleeping in the apartment at the time of the crash. Injuries to the ATV driver were not life-threatening, Martin said.
