Schlow Centre Region Library is undergoing a drying process after a frozen sprinkler pipe burst on the second floor of the facility early Monday morning, causing water damage to books and part of the building.
“The dry-out is proceeding smoothly,” library spokeswoman Susanna Paul said in an emailed statement. “Staff spent much of the day relocating undamaged books so that the wet carpet beneath the shelves can be thoroughly dried and cleaned.”
Schlow will remain closed through Sunday, Paul said.
She added that all special events and programs have been canceled.
