Local charities were the big winners Saturday at State College Area High School’s annual all-night volleyball tournament. Sponsored by the State High Key Club, the event raised more than $27,000 for organizations like Centre Volunteers in Medicine, the Pregnancy Resource Center and the Boalsburg EMS and Fire Department.
The tournament is the Key Club’s biggest fundraiser of the year. Members researched and personally connected with many different charities before the beneficiaries were decided.
“The biggest success from all-night volleyball was getting to see the smiles on other students’ faces and knowing that their hard work and cooperation will be able to bless the charities that make a difference in the Centre Region and around the world,” Key Club Co-President Katie Schuh said.
