The State High project is one step closer to becoming a reality.
At a special meeting Monday night, the State College Area school board passed the 60 percent design plan, said district spokesman Chris Rosenblum.
The design plan is broken up into phases that are passed by the board before construction. This puts the project into the 90 percent phase, which the board will vote on this summer.
The plan passed by a vote of 8-1, with Laurel Zydney the lone no vote.
Construction is expected to start in the summer.
The total cost of the State High renovation is $115 million.
