Ferguson Township police investigating two thefts

Ferguson Township police are investigating two thefts.

Owners of Westside Stadium reported to police that someone forcibly entered the restaurant during the early morning hours Saturday and took a register drawer and a safe from the building. Both contained cash, police said.

In a separate incident Monday, officers responded to a call about a robbery in the Champs Bar and Grill parking lot that reportedly occurred about 4 a.m.

An employee at the restaurant told police that he was leaving the restaurant when a man hit him in the head with a “black, blunt object that appeared” to be a gun, pushed him against his vehicle and tied him up, police said. The alleged perpetrator then took money from the employee’s wallet and his cell phone before fleeing.

The man got loose after a few minutes, drove home and called police. He declined medical attention.

The alleged perpetrator is described as being 5 feet 8 inches tall, about 150 pounds and wearing a red and white bandanna.

Anyone with information regarding either incident is asked to call Ferguson Township police at 237-1172.
