A police incident in Patton Township ended peacefully Tuesday after police were warned that firearms could be involved.
According to a news release by the Patton Township police, the department responded to a 12:05 p.m. call of a despondent individual in need of assistance in the western portion of the township off Buffalo Run Road. Since the individual had access to firearms, the Centre County Tactical Response Team was called to the scene.
The incident was resolved at about 3:15 p.m. when the individual exited the location, the release said. The person was transported to a facility for evaluation.
Patton Township police were unable to provide any additional details at press time.

Township police were assisted by the police departments of Penn State, Ferguson and Spring townships, and State College and Bellefonte boroughs, and Centre LifeLink, the release said.
