The California Tortilla franchise in State College has been put on the market.
Its listing price is set at $1.1 million. The 2,650-square-foot, one-story building sits across from Penn State’s campus at 322 W. College Ave.
The sale is for the business only. According to the listing, the building has been updated with a second restroom and new kitchen equipment.
Franchisees Ashook, Jay and Nirav Patel opened the Mexican-style, fast-casual restaurant in December 2014 to great fanfare. Known for its burritos, California Tortilla is similar to competitors Chipotle and Qdoba, both of which also have locations in the downtown area.
All three chains draw a high contingent of customers from the coveted age 18-to-34 demographic.
California Tortilla, which is privately held, is based in Washington, D.C.
