Bell convicted of harassment by a prisoner

A Benner state prison inmate was found guilty of felony aggravated harassment Monday after a one-day trial.

Montana Bell, 24, was charged with assault after an August incident where he reportedly struck a correction officer after refusing to put on a T-shirt. Bell was bound over on all charges on Nov. 2 after a preliminary hearing at the Centre County Courthouse.

According to a news release from the county District Attorney’s Office, Bell was found guilty Monday by a jury on one count of aggravated harassment by a prisoner — a third-degree felony. Judge Katie Oliver presided over the trial.

Bell will be sentenced on Nov. 29, the release said.
