13 charged in Penn State-Ohio State game riot

State College police announced charges against 13 individuals who allegedly participated in the Penn State-Ohio State game riot on Oct. 22.

Charges were filed at District Judge Carmine Prestia’s office, according to a press release from State College police.

Charges were filed against the following individuals:

▪ Ahmad Richard, 21, a Penn State student, was charged with felony riot, misdemeanor disorderly conduct and summary criminal mischief.

▪ Alex Hatala, 20, a Penn State student, was charged with felony riot, misdemeanor criminal mischief and misdemeanor failure to disperse.

▪ Jacob Pfaff, 18, a Penn State student, was charged with felony riot, misdemeanor recklessly endangering another person, misdemeanor disorderly Conduct, misdemeanor criminal mischief and summary minors law.

▪ Evan Paris, 21, a Penn State student, was charged with felony riot and misdemeanor disorderly conduct.

▪ Robert Mclaren, 19, a Penn State student, was charged with felony riot, misdemeanor criminal mischief and misdemeanor disorderly conduct.

▪ Brandon Miller, 20, a Penn State student, was charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct and summary criminal mischief.

▪ Jacob Miller, 22, was charged with misdemeanor failure to disperse and disorderly conduct.

▪ Pietro Lombardi, 25, was charged with misdemeanor failure to disperse and disorderly conduct.

▪ James Quinton, 21, a Penn State student, was charged with summary disorderly conduct.

▪ Patrick Cooney, 21, a Penn State student, was charged with summary disorderly conduct.

▪ Nicholas Paglione, 21, a Penn State student, was charged with summary disorderly conduct.

▪ Ryan Schwartz, 21, a Penn State student, was charged with summary disorderly conduct.

▪ Tim Schautz, 20, a Penn State student, was charged with summary disorderly conduct.

Police said Penn State students will also be referred to the university’s Office of Student Conduct for further disciplinary action.

“The Office of Student Conduct will engage its conduct process to hold students accountable for the behaviors identified that also violate the university’s Code of Conduct. Those found responsible can face sanctions up to and including expulsion from the university,” the release said.

Twenty-four photos of riot suspects are posted on the State College borough website.

Police ask that anyone with information contact the State College Police Department at 234-7150, by email or submit an anonymous tip through the website.
