A State College man was bound over on a misdemeanor charge of open lewdness Wednesday after a preliminary hearing at the Centre County Courthouse.
According to the criminal complaint filed by State College police, officers responded at about 6:30 p.m. Aug. 28 to a report of a man not wearing pants around the Days Inn area on South Pugh Street. Officers searched the area and took Stuart Davids, 64, into custody.
Two female witnesses reported that Davids sat down on a bench near them and began to stare at them, police said. He then allegedly unbuckled his pants, put his hands down his pants and began to masturbate in front of them.
The witnesses reported that he began to walk away and hide in a nearby alley when he saw police vehicles in the area, police said. Davids did not make a statement to police at the time of the incident.
