Bellefonte man faces new indecent exposure charges

A Bellefonte man was taken into custody Monday after allegedly exposing himself in public.

According to the criminal complaint filed by Bellefonte police, at about 1:45 p.m. officers were contacted by a Centre County driver stating that a female driver was sitting in the Gamble Mill parking lot. The female driver had reportedly witnessed a man touching himself in a sexual manner just inside the woodline of some nearby trees.

An officer responded to the Gamble Mill and contacted the female driver, police said, who advised she had watched the man walk past her van into the wooded area between the parking lot and North Thomas Street. When she looked back a few minutes later, she saw the man exposing himself as he watched her in her van.

She said she had seen the same man in the Krauss Park area doing the same thing in April but didn’t report it, police said.

Due to past experiences the department had with an individual in the same area, police said, the officer called out, “Tim Moyer, walk out to me.” A few seconds later, Timothy A. Moyer, 36, reportedly walked out of the woods.

The driver identified him as the man who had walked past her earlier, police said. Moyer reportedly apologized to the officer, saying he should have continued walking.

Moyer had previously been charged with indecent exposure in September, the CDT reported.

He was arraigned Monday before District Judge Kelley Gillette-Walker, according to court documents, and charged with misdemeanor counts of indecent exposure, public lewdness and disorderly conduct. Straight monetary bail was set at $15,000. Moyer was unable to post bail and was remanded to Centre County Correctional Facility.

A preliminary hearing is slated for June 21.
