State College police officers had to chase a Penn State student early Wednesday after the student reportedly refused a trip to the hospital.
According to police, officers responded at about 2:43 a.m. to the downtown McDonald’s at 442 E. College Ave. for a report of a 21-year-old male passed out in the restaurant. The officers reportedly attempted to lead the male to an ambulance when he suddenly took off running.
Officers chased the male for about 100 yards, police said, before finally “assisting him to the ground.” He was then taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center for evaluation.
The male was cited with disorderly conduct and public drunkenness, police said.
