Pedestrian struck by car at State College intersection

State College police are investigating after a pedestrian was reportedly hit by a car in the borough.

At about 10 a.m. Wednesday, a silver Ford sedan struck a pedestrian crossing at the intersection of South Pugh Street and East Calder Way, police said. An older black male was reportedly observed exiting the vehicle to check on the pedestrian before driving away.

Police said the pedestrian did seek medical attention after the incident, which is being investigated as a pedestrian accident rather than a hit-and-run.
