A Philadelphia man was arrested Tuesday after police say he was selling drugs out of a Ferguson Township motel.
Police, along with members of the Centre County Drug Task Force, were surveilling the motel to locate a different man wanted on criminal charges, when they observed several suspicious transactions they believed to be drug sales, according to a Ferguson Township police release.
Upon contact, David E. Blanchett Jr., 26, was reportedly found to be in possession of 18 bags of heroin, 21 packages of crack cocaine, 4 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, 56 grams of marijuana and about $400.
The drug activity and the wanted man are not related, police say.
Blanchett was charged with six felony counts of possession with intent to deliver, three felony counts of criminal use of a communication facility and misdemeanor charges of drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was arraigned before District Judge Casey McClain, who set monetary bail at $25,000. Blanchett was unable to post bail and is being held at the Centre County Jail.
His preliminary hearing is set for March 7.
