Investigators probing the death of Kaci Fisher, 24, provided an update Wednesday detailing one of their suspicions.
The body of Fisher was found at about 6:30 a.m. Sunday near Red Rose Road in Jackson Township, according to state police at Huntingdon. How her body got there has become a focus for investigators.
State police said in a release that they believe Fisher’s body was moved and dumped after her death. Investigators also alluded to possible drug related issues and reminded potential witnesses that the state’s drug laws provide immunity for people who report drug overdoses “as long as certain criteria is met.”
The criteria includes that a person reported “in good faith” a drug overdose to police or emergency personnel, cooperated with law enforcement or remained with the person suspected of overdosing until first responders arrive on the scene, according to state drug laws.
Toxicology results from Fisher’s autopsy won’t come back for at least six weeks, according to the Huntingdon County coroner.
State police have identified several suspects in the case, though they’ve asked for the public’s help. Anyone with information about Fisher’s death should call state police at 627-3161.
