A 29-month-old toddler was left alone in a bedroom for more than 14 hours with a gallon-sized plastic bag and cereal, according to multiple reports.
The boy was found dead after a parent opened the bedroom door.
Steven Allen Killion Sr, 37, and Tony Baker, 36, have been charged in their son’s death with manslaughter, endangering the welfare of a child and reckless endangerment.
The child died May 29 in a Lock Haven residence, according to a Lock Haven Express report that said a criminal complaint called the couple “grossly negligent in taking care of their children.” The toddler died of asphyxiation.
The lightly furnished residence was also where the couple was responsible for caring for two other children, one of them an autistic teenager who regularly injured himself, according to a PennLive report that detailed Killion’s interview with police.
Each outlet noted that Baker told Killion she would be sent to “the mental hospital for killing the kids” and that she had already abused the teen and wanted to “strangle them.”
Killion and Baker were unable to post $125,000 bail set by Clinton County District Judge John Maggs, according to court documents.
