Howard man guilty of DUI in Centre Hall crash

A 50-year-old Howard man was found guilty Thursday of driving under the influence following a bench trial in Centre County Court.

The Centre County District Attorney’s Office said Troy Catherman was convicted of two misdemeanor counts of DUI and two summary traffic violations.

Prosecutors said Catherman’s blood alcohol content was 0.184 percent, more than twice the legal limit, when he drove into an embankment at about 4:39 a.m. on July 3, 2010, while driving on Route 144 in Centre Hall.

Centre County President Judge Thomas Kistler found Catherman guilty. Sentencing is scheduled for April 16 in the case.
