Police are investigating a case of vehicle theft that they say led to a hit-and-run crash.
Police said two men gained entry into a building on Saturday, located keys to a lime green 2008 Peterbilt dump truck and drove off in the vehicle. They drove the truck to Chester Hill borough, where the vehicle was involved in a hit-and-run crash at the intersection of Copelin Road and Decatur Street, police said.
The crash damaged a parked vehicle, a tree and the truck. During the crash, a large amount of “reddish” dirt and pieces of asphalt were spilled out of the truck’s bed onto the roadway.
Police said the truck was returned to the Graham Township building and the actors ran away.
