Black Friday police log: Purse stolen from car, teen cited with shoplifting

A purse was stolen from a car and a teenager was cited with retail theft during the pre-Black Friday shopping extravaganza at the Nittany Mall.

State College police said someone smashed out a window of a car parked at the mall in College Township on Thursday and stole a woman’s purse. Police said the woman reported the theft a little after 10 p.m. Police didn’t immediately know where in the mall parking lot the incident happened.

Police do not have any suspects.

An 18-year-old was cited after midnight Friday after the teen stole two T-shirts from Macy’s at the mall, police said.

Police didn’t release the teen’s identity because the citation had not yet been processed through the district court.

Patton Township police said there were no incidents reported to them during Black Friday.
