Rockview visitors charged after drugs discovered

Two Philadelphia residents were arrested in Centre County after prison officials found drugs in their vehicle. According to court documents, Tiffany Philpot, 28, and Donnell Shawn Price, 33, were visiting an inmate at Rockview state prison Friday. When they arrived at the prison, Sgt. Melissa Weakland identified herself and asked permission to search the 2014 Jeep rental vehicle with a drug-sniffing dog. The pair consented.

The dog alerted Weakland to the presence of drugs. She subsequently found a small glass jar with a green lid containing 0.5 grams of marijuana in Philpot’s purse. In Price’s backpack, she found a grinder, rolling papers, a “homemade smoking device” and a bag of marijuana.

Both have prior drug arrests.

District Judge Allen Sinclair arraigned them, setting bail at $10,000 each. Both were remanded to Centre County Correctional Facility on Friday, but they posted bail over the weekend.
