A former Centre County counselor has pleaded no contest to making false reports that she was sexually assaulted and abducted.
Cindy Brumbaugh, 51, of Howard, entered her plea March 20. She is now awaiting sentencing on three misdemeanor charges, including unsworn falsification to authorities and two separate counts of making false reports.
Brumbaugh owned Actions Counseling in Bellefonte, a contracted provider of domestic violence services to Centre County. She was in the company of a court-appointed counseling client when the pair were involved in a car accident in August. Brumbaugh made the false reports to cover up a romantic relationship with the man.
The county terminated Actions Counseling contracts in September.
