Penn State fraternity fracas under investigation

State College police are investigating an assault that reportedly occurred at the Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity house.

Police responded to the call at 322 Fraternity Row around 2:15 a.m. and found a 21-year-old male with his eye swollen shut and a swollen lip, police said. A female had a lump on her forehead and a swollen finger and another female had a swollen elbow, police said.

The altercation started when the beaten man, who lives at the address, was tending the door at a party and asked a female to leave, police said. The female’s boyfriend then hit him “4 or 5” times, police said. The females were hit when they tried to break up the fight, according to police.

The perpetrator was described by the alleged victim only as a male wearing a white tank top, police said. Police hope to use video footage to identify the perpetrator.
