A 22-year-old Connecticut man is accused of felony burglary, criminal trespass and misdemeanor criminal mischief after reportedly entering the residence of an ex-girlfriend and destroying items Saturday morning, State College police said.
Brandon Russo, 22, reportedly entered the Pugh Street apartment between 1:40 and 2 a.m. and kicked in the door to her room, breaking the lock and damaging the door frame.
The woman was not home initially but returned while Russo was there, police said.
Russo then shoved a male friend of the woman and flipped a dining room table, breaking dishes and bottles, police said. Russo was then pushed out of the building, police said.
He returned about 4:30 a.m. and pounded on doors and windows but did not re-enter the building, police said.
The woman reported the incident to police at 12:41 p.m. Saturday.
Police said they interviewed Russo at his campus residence, Porter Hall, and police said he told them he was intoxicated when the incident occurred.
Russo is held at Centre County Correctional Facility on $75,000 cash bail.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Wednesday.
