Boalsburg woman hurt in Linden Hall Road crash

A driver was injured in a one-vehicle crash in Harris Township on Tuesday evening.

Police said Mikaela Mooney, 20, of Boalsburg, lost control of her car at about 10:20 p.m. on Linden Hall Road, striking an embankment before crossing lanes, striking a guardrail, crossing back and coming to rest along the road.

Mooney said she was returning home from a friend’s house when she swerved to miss a deer, police said. Evening temperatures were in the low teens, and patches of ice were on the roadway.

Mooney was taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center for possible head injuries, police said.

She was cited for driving too fast for conditions, police said, and tested for blood-alcohol content. The car was towed from the scene.
