A Harrisburg man will serve at least 11 months in county jail for building a bomb.
Frederick Rice, 53, brought a Ferguson Township neighborhood to a halt in August when someone noticed the pipe bomb in his car. Rice told police he intended to place the explosive device in the vehicle belonging to his wife’s lover.
Judge Pamela A. Ruest sentenced Rice to 111/2 to 231/2 months in the Centre County Correctional Facility, to be followed by four years of probation.
Rice pleaded guilty to one count of manufacturing a weapon of mass destruction and five counts of reckless endangerment in December.
