A State College man pleaded guilty to child rape charges before President Judge Thomas King Kistler on Friday, according to a press release from the Centre County District Attorney’s Office.
Stephen Lucas, 39, was arrested in April and charged with 91 felony counts of child sex abuse. Lucas lived in the same building as the child and sometimes watched her. The abuse began when the child was 8 years old and continued until May 2013, when the girl, then 12, told her mother, who contacted police.
Lucas pleaded guilty to nine counts each of rape by forcible compulsion and rape of a child and faces 30-60 years in state prison, according to the release. Sentencing is scheduled for April 9.
