A Bucks County man is charged with burglary, suspected of trying to steal items including weights, alcohol and a roll of duct tape from a stranger’s apartment.
State College police responded to a reported burglary in progress at a Beaver Avenue apartment early Thursday morning and found Alexander Cinkaj, 21, of Langhorne, in the hallway outside of the apartment surrounded by weights, a backpack and several bottles of alcohol.
The resident of the apartment reported that Cinkaj woke him and asked him for a shirt to wear home, police said. The man, who had never met Cinkaj, gave him one.
The resident noticed Cinkaj had some of his belongings, including a roll of duct tape, a can of Coors Light and a bottle of vodka, in his pockets, police said. After taking the items back, the resident of the apartment escorted Cinkaj from the apartment and saw the weights, backpack and bottles in the hallway, which he said belonged to him, and called police.
