A Centre County man has been arrested as part of an investigation into online sharing and distribution of child pornography, Attorney General Kathleen Kane announced Monday.
Christopher Branca, of Madisonburg, used a peer-to-peer network to make files available for download, according to a press release from Kane’s office. Undercover agents successfully downloaded those files and used an IP address to identify Branca’s residence as the source, the release said.
A search of the home led to the seizure of computers and other electronic devices, which contained apparent child pornography, Kane’s office said.
Branca, 44, was charged with one count of distribution of child pornography, seven counts of possession of child pornography and one count of criminal use of a communication facility, the release said.
