A Madisonburg man accused of possessing and distributing child pornography waived his preliminary hearing Wednesday.
Christopher Branca, 44, is suspected of using a peer-to-peer network to make files available for download, according to a press release from the state Attorney General’s Office. Undercover agents investigating Branca downloaded the files and traced the computer’s IP address to his residence, the release said.
Computers and other electronics containing apparent child pornography were seized during a search of Branca's residence, according to the release.
According to court documents, Branca was arrested and arraigned Friday before District Judge Thomas Jordan and is charged with seven counts of possessing child pornography, one count of distributing child pornography and one count of criminal use of a communication facility — all felonies.
