Police identify individual in ‘suspicious activity’ report near school bus stop

State College police have identified the person who reportedly approached an 11-year-old girl on her way to her school bus stop last week.

On March 24, police issued a report of suspicious activity after a student said a white male driving a scratched white vehicle stopped and asked, “Are you walking to school?” She said she was, and the man asked if she wanted a ride.

The girl said no and continued walking to her stop, and the man, whom she described as college-aged with brown hair and of small to average build, drove away.

On Wednesday, police, in a news release, said the man had been identified.

“Police detectives have spoken with the individual and the case remains active at this time,” the release said.
